I just quit smoking, and I've been coping by eating all the garbage I can. I know it's not healthy. I don't care. I've been filling a dark deep whole in my chest, where the cigarette smoke lurked, with something/anything.
I probably eat too many cinnamon rolls. It's a little guilty pleasure I have. I buy the cheap ones in the roll containers that pop when you twist them.
Science is studying the problem. In the meantime, keep trading your horrible habits, for slightly less horrible habits. The journey to being a better person is long and salty, make sure to pack plenty of cinamon rolls for the trip.
